As we all know Gucci Mane has caught fire and has been on at least 85% of the songs you hear on the radio lol. I just got through listening to The Game’s song "Krazy" and I really like the chorus, which has Gucci Mane on it, and I came across a thought that I wanted to expand on and share with you.
I think Gucci Mane is going to be the next Lil Wayne in terms of popularity and possibly success. No, he isn’t a lyrical genius. He isn’t droppin gems-a formula I highly believe in-but his shit bump and it’s catchy. I really didn’t like Gucci Mane when I first heard him, of course, but I’ve grown to tolerate and actually appreciate his work.
REVELATION:
Lil Wayne, Gucci, they have gained enough attention to do what they want. What I admire about these dudes and what I think rappers need to start doing is when you are in the spotlight and niggas are feeling you, bombard the game with ya hottest shit. You know? Keepin hittin niggas with the shit that you good at. Cause not too soon after you’ll be able to do whatever you want (musically).
For example, Nas. All my Nas fans know what I’m talkin bout. I’m probably one of the biggest Nas stans so I think yall gone feel me. The vibe, beats, and rhymes on Illmatic is the best work of Nas. Nas murks it on them hard east coast joints. Them chill joints. Them meaningful joints. The jazzy shit. He is at his best on those kind of beats. Think of Premier, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Alchemist, Xtra P, The Abstract (Q Tip). Most of the cats who produced his firt album!!!
If he would just go in with them dudes, he could change the game, again. I know like after like 95’ niggaz were changin their sound, but I know Nas knows what he sounds best on. But he say he want to do other shit. Cool. But why do something else that you not the best at. This is why I’m glad we have the Lil Waynes, the Soulja Boys, Guccis, cuz they know what they sound best on.
In an interview Lupe said that hip hop has many different colors. I totally agree with him. So when you look at Gucci, or the Soulja Boys of the game, are you mad at him cuz he aint spittin like Slaughter House or are you hatin cuz the nigga on fire? I can understand if just dont like a rapper for whatever reason, but if a nigga is popular why are you mad cuz he on every song?
From a hip hop fan P.O.V yeah I would say oh man Gucci shit killin real hip hop blah, blah, blah. But just as a regular nigga on the outside lookin in I give him props for gettin his.
So next time you see come across these issues think, am I hatin or helpin? Personally, I like feel good, inspiring, positive hip hop, but I’m a real nigga I acknowledge all forms of hip hop cuz I love it (hip hop).
Here is my opinion:
*Lyricist should do what they do but make it hot. The beat need to compliment them and vice versa.
Non-lyrical rappers should make attempts to step they lyricism up. What yall think?*

I been listening to lil wayne since tha carter. Tha carter and tha carter 2 was lyrical and had substance. Carter 2 was his realeast shit IMO. carter 3 was retardedly mainstream but he had a few nice songs.
BUT! I dont understand guccis popularity. its sad how low hip hop has gone since now we have a guy speaking in 3rd person talking about his chains…. “gucci mane stuntin..BURR”
Really America?
Can someone please explain to me why everyone is reaching out to this bum nigga?for real though
